finding safety in the pleasures of His presence

THE LORD IS GOOD, A STRENGTH AND STRONGHOLD IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE. HE KNOWS THOSE WHO TAKE REFUGE AND TRUST IN HIM. (NAHUM 1:7)

A stronghold is a fortified, reinforced dwelling place of security.
Strength is a place of permanence by virtue of power to resist force.

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH AND STRONGHOLD. (NEHEMIAH 8:10)

YOU WILL SHOW ME THE PATH OF LIFE. IN YOUR PRESENCE IS FULLNESS OF JOY, AT YOUR RIGHT HAND ARE PLEASURES FOREVERMORE. (PSALM 16:11)

Christy,

This is a beautiful verse and picture. There truly is no place better to be in the midst of some storm than right with Jesus.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your commnent on my blog! You've gotta love the Blog Hop! I, too, love your Christ art. Is it a Liz Lemon Swindle? I've seen it before but I can't remember if it's her work. Anyway, great to meet you and hope to see you around!

As soon as I saw that picture of Jesus and the children, tears sprang to my eyes. How truly intimate a portrait that is...I have known times when He was like that with me and it was incredible!

What a neat picture of Jesus with the children. So simple yet so elegant and detailed.

Thank you for the scripture. He is my strength.

I didn't really have such an adventurous life. I was just being a kid and quite often we played most of a day without supervision.

Kids get into weird situations because they make bad choices. That was me.

More later

Lovely picture and words!

I also want to thank you for your comments to my Cory post. This post is probably among the more important ones I have written. Having stormed the heavens together with other intercessors for our nation, I deeply feel the loss of a historical figure like Cory. I still have to find a place and time to express my grief before God.

Selfless leaders like her are sadly missing from our modern day history. She's the only one I know of, and the hundreds of thousands of common people standing in the stormy weather waited for the funeral cortege to pass by...flowers and candles that have been left in front of her residence in Quezon City...all attest to the love the people have for her. Our nation has truly lost a mother who cares and who will fight for us.

It is time to wait upon God to see what He will do next.

Thank you for reading my post, caring, and showing interest.

Love
Lidj

Amen, Christy...thanks for a great post! Thanks, too, for your kind comment about the vlog.

You asked how I feel about both of my boys leaving for college...it's a mixed bag of emotions for hubby and me. We'll really miss them, of course. Bo will not be too far away, so we'll see him a little more often than his brother. I'll definitely miss their kisses, hugs, and the busyness of their lives.

On the plus side, hubby and I will get to spend some quality time together, I won't have to go to the grocery store as often, and I just might get that perpetual pile of laundry finally caught up! ;-)

Seriously, pray for my hubby, Bill. He went through a difficult time of adjustment when Billy went to college. Now that Bo's going, too, it's going to be awfully quiet around her. Bill has a very close relationship with the boys, so it will be tough.

Thanks!
Blessings,
Beth
