three things you did not know about me

1. i went to 3 different colleges for over 7 years and I still never have gotten a degree. that is ok though because i really am not interested anymore. but, i do value every bit of knowledge and information that i received in all of my college classes. i learned alot and i wouldn't change that time in my life for anything.
2. i am a wife and mommy to five wonderful children who now make my life an all around adventure all the time. i am trusting God to reveal to me what i need to know to raise them with all the confidence and security that they need to go forth in this life and make a difference in this world for Jesus because in all of that college education, there was never anything taught to me about how to accomplish that.
3. i have been married to a wonderful man for 18 years and he still makes my heart jump every time that i stop to think about him. unless of course he just did something to really irritate me. lol i ask God everyday to empower me to be a wonderful wife for him and bless him in all that i do. of course, i have to lean upon God to reveal how to do this too because, once again, my college education did little to nothing to help me out in this area either.

I too have attended quite a few colleges I think 4 and still haven't managed to complete a degree now it just seems like every time I would get started I would have another baby so four kids later I dont really know how I feel about the whole degree thing. :)

So true...the things we learn about our everyday life do not get learned in College or by having a college degree...
The Bible & much prayer help with those daily things.

Lovely post! 5 kids, too?! That's how many I wanted until I became a nanny for a summer... I would still love it, but am nervous about going prematurely grey. :) 'Cause I know it would happen to me!!

Hopped over from the blog hop. Hope you're having a great Tuesday. :)

I'm in the same boat-3 colleges over about 7 or 8 years. No degree. And I'm not sure when or if I even want to go back!

Christy,

Love your list of three! Its so great to read a little bit more about you and love the fact you are still in love with hubby after 18 years as much if not more so than you did when you first met.

I think its more because you have 18 years of life experience that makes you appreciate him all that more.

7 years! I can see how that would happen-that's gonna be my brother! I don't have a degree either-not really sure if I'll try in the future or not-it depends what God's plans are for me. I'm not opposed to a degree to meet requirements for other things per se-but I totally feel the same about the little college I did do-laughing at your #3!! Thank you for stopping by to meet me-I love new bloggy friends too:) Amanda

Psst, I went to three different colleges since 2004!! I feel you on this one :o) I would like to attend College for a couple of semesters when we STOP moving every year. It'd be nice to get an AA degree, especially when we can't afford for me to be a SAHM.

I love your honesty and I adore your blog!

Thank you so much for your encouragement on my blog earlier! You are so right. I have to enjoy this time I have. My oldest is already almost 9 and it seems like just yesterday she was a baby. I am going to take your advice and use this time to learn what God wants me to learn before the next chapter comes.

You are so sweet and I'm so glad that I've "met" you :)

Fun to have all that college experience...what an experience! I went to a pretty small city college and lived at home during that time...I wish I could've had the 'true' college experience :)

You have an amazing faith and appreciate that you share that with us!

{and I love the girls' day out photos a few posts down! that is the best time! thanks again for all your sweet comments...I love hearing from you!}

I never finished college either. I've been married almost 18 years. I have two kids.

College definitely didn't help me with life skills. Only God can teach me well enough for it to stick.

:)

Good to stop by your blog again. It's been too long.

I don't understand the Mr. Linky thing you have by this post. But then again, I didn't really read that part. I read your words. :)

Have a great week!

Love,

Tiffany

It took me 4 colleges and 8 years to get my degree. But you're right. It didn't prepare me for motherhood or wifehood. And that is my most fulfilling job. Thanks for pointing us to our Heavenly Father for help!

I can only imagine what an adventure 5 childern would be ;)

You're absolutely right. I work at a college. Trust me, it does no good to know how to split an atom if you don't know how to live your life!

Christy,

I always enjoy learning a little bit more about you. I'm always blessed by it.

Formal education is great and I hav some of it BUT God's word combined w/hand's on experience is the best teaching for LIFE my sister. I'm with you! :)

Love ya.

I don't think you have to have the SS card to get the job, but this particular school district I'm applying to wants to see and copy the card.

I'll have it soon. Tomorrow I go to get my resume typed up and printed.

Things are moving along.

I like your post. I've been to colleges everywhere I have lived and I have an Associstes degree in two things.

Wish I had finished the BA, I was so close.

I liked college, but like you said, it did not prepare me for marriage or children.

Thank God for the Bible and family.

Take care

college is highly overated. There was a book a while ago, I never read it but loved the title, "All I ever needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten." Right?
