flowers for memorial day

this morning before the storms blew in and ruined all of our plans for this memorial day, we got a little yard work done. we were supposed to go to the peoria chiefs game, the local minor league baseball team. but, the rains came pouring down and canceled it. we got done with our yard work just in time for the clouds to come rolling in.
jacob kept coming up with more and more places that he thought we needed to plant flowers. i guess that is appropriate considering that it is memorial day. he loves helping his daddy.  i hope that never changes! but i have teenagers and i know aaron had better enjoy it while it lasts.

Love his little boots. Sorry the rain had to ruin things for you. Your pretty flowers will love it though. I love petunias.

Forget the plants... I want that GRASS!! Seriously, I have been struggling for years to try to get a decent lawn that isn't 99% weeds, but it's hard with all these oaks.

It was stormy here most all of the weekend too, but that's okay. I managed to grill a bit in between, and there was no shortage of food in this house. We are truly blessed.

Happy Summer!!

What an awesome helper! How can his daddy feel tired when he sees his cute boy excited about their work together? Blessings to all of you.

I just love petunias and how perky they make a place look! What a fun time they had.

We need to have a yard day here too. I've given up on our grass!! Maybe Andrew will be as big a help as Jacob was/is.

What is it about the earth/dirt, and digging in it that is so much a part of our American experience? What a wonderful way to pass an afternoon, and with such cute help to boot!

Blessings,
Kathleen
