now on to high school

friday night olivia walked across the stage to receive her diploma for completing 8th grade. she graduated with a yellow cord hanging across her shoulders representing having made honor roll all year. knowing that she put forth a lot of effort to accomplish that, i was so proud of her.  the hall way of the school was lined with pictures of the graduating class and some of their own memories. we finally found olivia's.
 then we found her....
before the ceremony, they showed a slide show of all those graduating and their reflection to share with their classmates.
the ceremony was a little long for jacob to handle

Loved the pictures, but I have a question. Is the graduation ceremonies from junior high to high school something new? Because I don't ever remember having one and I feel gipped. LOL!

Christy,

Congratulations to your beautiful daughter Olivia. That happens to be the middle name of my youngest daughter who graduates High School next year. I remember her 8th grade graduation as well.

They didn't do 8th grade graduation when our adult (mid 20's) daughter was in 8th grade.

I enjoyed all the photos. Olivia has such a countenance that speaks the beauty of JESUS, the presence of LIFE. What a future she has!

Blessings and peace!
Lisa

Congratulations to your graduate! Great pictures...

Many many years ago, we had graduation ceremonies from 8th grade going into high school...I didn't know this was still done, but think it is a wonderful tradition....

Congrats to Olivia! I must say, the pictures of your two boys is EXACTLY what goes on here when programs are too long for Caleb! Big Brother to the rescue!! :)

Congrats to your daughter, Olivia!!!

I remember graduating from 8th grade (Catholic school) like it was yesterday. It was nice to see that some public schools still honor their "elementary" graduates. I loved the poem done in her honor.

Thanks for dropping by on Friday. After I posted I turned off my computer for a whirl wind weekend of birthday and graduation parties.

Now tonight, my own little PreK(er) is graduating. I'm already overcome with a mix of emotions about sending her off to school next year!

Have a great Monday,
Val

I'm so proud of Olivia too! She worked so hard this year for her grades and did exceedingly above average! She was a great friend and leader and all the way kept her eyes on Jesus! What a shining light! I will miss having her everyday, so glad she is a part of my church family so i still see her! But who will answer my phone and read my facial expressions...no one does it better than her!!! MUAH!
