our weekend was wonderful and i have so many things to say about it. i am going to take the next week and write about the different things that i experienced a little each day. our van trip went rather well. everyone got along and enjoyed each other. i guess my kids are all getting older and able to handle the long trip to tulsa a little bit better. everone except jacob, of course. he did great for the first seven hours and pretty much cried for the last two. he hit his maximum car seat time then and let everyone know it for two solid hours. earphones helped the other kids to handle it and aaron and i just had to tune him out. but, guess what! ten minutes before we got to our hotel, he decided it was time for the nap that he had been fighting for the last two hours. he is such a stinker. that was the trip there. but the trip home was almost identical. i think we need to shorten any other trips we take for awhile to seven hours or less.
i was welcomed home with a wonderful blogging award from two of my sweet blogging friends. Kat from Heart to Heart and Mary from Pile of Smiles both awarded me the Love Ya Friendship award and i was so deeply touched by their thoughts of friendship toward me. please stop by and visit them. they are great friends to have. they will inspire you and uplift you with all of their posts and their comments on yours.
So here's what you must do upon accepting this award. please create a post stating the following about the award:
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.
Here are the friends that i want to pass this award on to:
Jennifer at The Life and Times of Mommy. She has five children too. She is a busy mom who loves Jesus and trusts in the grace of God to help her accomplish all she needs to in each day. Her posts will truly cause you to see Jesus in her life.
Michelle at Psalm 104:24. she is a farm lovin, blog writin, baby wantin momma who loves Jesus too. Her posts will always make you smile as she shares her life with her friends.
Erica at Scottsville. She is the funnest mom I know. Constantly coming up with fun things for her and her kids to do in Texas, where she is proud to live, she makes being a mom seem like a blast.
Daveda at Grace Talk with Daveda. She is my real life friend. She shares her revelation of Truth in her posts and will inspire you to think deeply about what you really believe when you visit her.
Joye at Joyeful Journey. Her journey with the Lord and her family will touch your heart every time in her writings. She is a breath of fresh air.
Kellie at Warrior Woman takes on the World. She is another real life friend of mine who I love dearly. I have seen her grow so much in her relationship with God. Warrior woman is such a great title for her. She is a mighty woman of God.
Alicia at Confessions of a Snowflake. She will make you laugh and make you cry in her writings. She expresses herself beautifully in her writing.
Kathleen at Sassy Granny. The wisdom that flows from her posts will amaze you. You can not go visit her and leave without learning something deep concerning the Lord.
I am so proud to consider each one of these wonderful ladies my friends. In some way, they all have deposited something into my life through their friendship. Please take some time to stop and visit them, they will welcome your friendship as well.

OH, and PS
Congrats to everyone else! I see some great familiar faces, and cannot wait to "meet" some new friends too.
What a gracious acknowledgement! Thank you.
I have to chuckle over your little Jacob. My own Molly (now 36) used to have such a tough time on car rides - long or short. That is until she figured out we often stopped to eat, at which time she developed her other childhood penchant: checking out bathrooms along the way.
Anyway, I appreciate your quiet & gentle spirit - so precious to the Lord, and so delightful to we who call you friend.
Kathleen
Wow, two 9-hour trips...with kids?! You and your hubby are very brave souls! LOL
I am looking forward to hearing about your weekend.
Poor little baby…it is hard being buckled in so long…sometimes I can’t be helped.
Glad to hear the trip went as well as it did.
♥Hope
I cannot wait to hear more about how your weekend went. Sounds like it was wonderful (other than part of the car ride :) )
Have a very blessed, totally amazing day.
When my son was 11 months old, we took a 9 hour car ride. He did the same thing, cried for the last 2 hours. On the way home, we left at 8:00 at night and drove home without stopping. He slept all the way. It was wonderful. Then when we got home, he played in his crib. He was soooo happy to be home. I'll never forget that. Oh they grow up way too fast my friend!
Glad you guys had a great time! Congrats on the award. And thanks for sharing the love! You are definitely a great blogging friend!
Wow! Thank you so much! I am honored that you consider me a friend!!
I know all about long car rides with little ones-we realized a few years ago that it was easier for us to go halfway, spend a night somewhere, and drive the rest the next day. It means leaving a day early, and planning an extra day on the end of the trip (for the ride home) but it's SOOO worth it to arrive at our destination with everyone rested and happy instead of roadworn and grumpy(and arrive home that way too!!)
Jen
Congratulations sister Christy! You are definitely a great friend and sister in Christ. Glad to hear that you had a great trip back and forth. Can't wait to hear more about your adventures. God bless.
Christy, thanks so much for thinking of me!!!!
I've got an 'awards' post in the making, so it'll be up in the next few days hopefully.
Thanks again!
{hugs}

I just wanted to say Congrats on the award! I came here from Mary's blog and have been reading! I live in Tulsa, well just outside but am wondering where this conference was? I look forward to hearing about it!
Glad you have safe travel :)

So glad your trip went well - can't wait to hear what God spoke to you while you were there!!
Congrats on your award!
Oh you've blessed my heart with your sweet friendship! I appreciate you and your love for Jesus and your passion for His truth so much! So glad I met you!!
P.S. I KNOW how you felt on that long drive!!! I have been there!!
Christy,
You completely deserve this award and so happy you are passing it along to other bloggers. Isn't it hard to pick 8 when you just want to click on everyone??
Hopefully others will bring this full circle and people everywhere will just feel well loved!
Congratulations again on both your trip and on the award.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
We are getting ready to take a 12 hour car ride and the other day the 1 hour drive home almost killed my ear drums. My kids are so loud. How will I do 12 hours of that?
Congrats on the award and glad your trip was safe.
So great to hear that your trip went so well. 7 hours in a car is a long time- even for adults, so it sounds like your kids did great!
Julianne :)
Congrats on your awards! I am glad that the trip went well, except for the last two hours, lol!
Looking forward to hearing about it!

I glad you and Aaron made it through the trip and still have your sanity. I called Aaron to get the details, but he hasn't called back yet.
Laura
Can't wait to hear all about it! Will be reading!
