but God!!

truly, i don't deserve for God to bless my life with His goodness. i have done nothing to qualify myself for all that He has to offer. anything good that i have done is easily erased by the the bad attitudes that I have had or the prideful thoughts that seem to rise up in me. in and of myself, i deserve God's wrath on me, not His blessing.  in and of myself, i have nothing to offer God, except the works of my flesh, which stink in the nostrils of God. in and of myself, i am destined to a life of frustration and failure in my attempts to please God at all.  in and of myself, i am hopeless!

but God!

"but God---so rich is He in His mercy! because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved me...." (Ephesians 2:4)  He did not leave me to my own demise. because His love for me compelled Him to do so, because His love for me had to be satisfied, because His love for me was so intense, because His love for me could not fail, He changed everything for me! He changed my posiition before Him, from "in and of myself" to "in Christ." now, in Christ, i no longer attempt to stand before God offering myself to Him. because I am united and in fellowship with Him, i stand alongside of Him, displaying the work of His mercy and grace. in Christ, i am destined to live in the riches of God's goodness as His daughter, reborn by His Spirit. in Christ, i always have hope!

Oh so well written Christy...makes us so thankful that God is not working in us because of who we WERE, but because of what he wants to accomplish in us.

Great post.

Amen! What a disaster if Christ did not come to rescue us! I love that you reminded us how we get transformed from "in and out of ourselves" to "in Christ"...
"Christ...y is long dead, because Christ now lives in her!" Thanks be to God! Have a great day sister! God bless.

Very good! No matter what, we always have something HUGE to be thankful for...God's mercy & grace poured out through His son Jesus. Thanks for the reminder. Have a blessed day!

What a powerful confession of faith!

Indeed, my best days as an unbeliever are meager fare as compared to even my worst days as His chosen vessel.

We who bear His name (and seal) are undone by His love & grace!

Blessings,
Kathleen

I am ever-thankful for GOD's mercy, love, and grace. If I received what I deserved I would be in a ditch somewhere.
HE IS AWESOME and HIS grace is most certainly sufficient.

Blessings and prayers, andrea

PS: Sitka has an award for you at All God's Creatures.

Amen Christy, Todays Max Lucado devotional today was about God's UNFAILING LOVE. Max writes:

"Does HE love us because of our goodness? Because of our kindness? Because of our great faith? No, he loves us because of his goodness, kindness, and great faith. John says it like this: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us” (1 John 4:10 NIV).

Doesn’t this thought comfort you? God’s love does not hinge on yours. The abundance of your love does not increase his. The lack of your love does not diminish his. Your goodness does not enhance his love, nor does your weakness dilute it."

How amazing is that idea!

I second that AMEN my sister. I certainly know I've done nothing to deserve His grace & love by my attitude, behavior & often, my very own mouth, but thank God He knows my heart.

Beautiful post Christy, as always.

Christy,

Love the comparison of the first post of our sin filled lives in comparison to the last one where we are completely blessed by God's grace and love!
