we are all a mess in need of a savior

it has been interesting the different things that have come to my attention in the last few weeks and months. i am noticing so many different people's lives and how they are given different circumstances to endure. standing on the outside and looking in, it seems like you can see things from a perspective that they can't and you feel like you have the answers that maybe they might need. but in reality, no one has the answers for other people unless they are leading them to the only Answer and that is Jesus. you really can not know how someone feels or thinks or what they are going through, even if you may have experienced the same kind of circumstances that they may have. and even if you did, the pathway to the fix for you might be a totally different pathway for them.

i have realized that all of our lives are a mess in one way or another. and it really only gets better when we recognize and admit it. trying to pretend that everything is just a bed of roses when it is not, only prolongs any help in our lives at all. we all need God's mercy and we all need God's grace to empower us to get through and overcome the difficulties that are presented to us in our lives. it really helps me to be able to love and nurture others when i do not expect them to be perfect and know that they need help to get through stuff that is handed to them. and it really helps me to be able to love myself when i see myself with the same perspective.

we truly are all a mess in need of a Savior every single minute of every single day of our lives!

Very well put. And let me tell you, while I know there are people out there with bigger messes than me, I've got pretty big messes of my own and I am in need of love, understanding and forgiveness from our Father, not only on a daily basis but several times a day!! Thankfully He understands my human experience and my human failures and my humanness!! Otherwise, I'd have MORE than messes, I'd BE a mess!! He is where my serenity and peace can be found and only through Him.

Nearby where I grew up, a rather large church hosted a rather large sign that read: Christ is the Answer. I remember thinking they were nuts, and wondering what was the question.

Many years downstream I realized that all questions are answered in that one, simple truth. He is the answer!

Blessings,
Kathleen

I see so many Christians who feel they are a failure if they admit to their imperfections or inability to handle the situations life throws at them. Had we not needed Christ, He would have never come! But we do...and He did!

Oh my goodness, friend, you are so right--HE is the ONLY way. There is no other.

Beautifully written.

We all got mess, do we not? And yes, it's true... only Jesus is capable of untangling it all and bringing peace out of chaos. Our role for ourselves and with others is to bring the mess to Jesus... to point others to Jesus and allow him his hands in the matter.

Such a needed word this day, Christy.

That's so true....even in the same situations, we all learn and get through them differently.

So, so true. I could not imagine taking steps without the guidance of the ONE that truly knows just what steps I should be taking. I am just so often guitly of seeking others advise before I seek the advice of the One that see's the whole picture. Still learning.

Hi. I really needed to read this post today so I'm glad I was running late. I know other people have bigger issues than me right now. But when you are in the thick of it its hard to remember that. Thanks for reminding me.

Welcome to the Friday Follow. I'm your newest follower. So glad to have you with us.

Amen! This is a hard lesson to learn. But I think we are much more at peace, when we realize how much we really need Him.

Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful. Perfect. The truth.

You basically summed up 2 days worth of parish mission retreat that I have been attending.

What is so amazing about God is that he has formed us and created us...and yet steps back from us. Allows us to live, to make choices, to be who we are...and then, steps forward and puts HIS arms around us and loves us in our entirety...imperfections and all.

There is nothing that we can do that will keep God from loving us...even if we need forgiveness...that is how great God's love is for us.

It's mind-boggling!!!

Blessings,
Val

I think you really got to the heart of the matter with this post. We all make messes, and it's easy for someone to judge a mess-maker without knowing more about the situation. A person could have childhood scars that no one else can see.

A good example of this: Because of my childhood, I was afraid of people, and I could never look someone in the eye. I had so much fear, that I never really looked at the people who were talking to me. My only thought was to hurry and get away from them.

At a bible study once, a man in our group said that if someone couldn't look him in the eye, he wrote that person off as suspicious or sly. Now here's a perfect example of someone who doesn't understand where a person is coming from, and writing them off as a mess.

Great post, Christy!

Man's nature...How quick we are to see other people's mess without realizing we have created our own. I'm so glad that God sees differently than men do. Amen! Jesus is the answer! I pray that anyone will stop answering with their own wisdom. But seek the One Who is above us all. Great post sister. I have made some mess and yet you reminded me of the only One Who can clean this up! Love and blessings.

So true, Christy! We are ALL a mess and the only goodness in us is Christ Jesus.

I also like what you said about people finding the Truth in different ways than what may have worked for us.

Excellent Post!

this is so right on. I also, found that I don't always have the right thing to say and was really humbled last week. I am learning to filter through the word and prayer these days.....
