COME ON IN, GRAB A CUP OF COFFEE & SHARE A RANDOM MOMENT WITH ME

we interrupt faces week to say "happy birthday dad"

we celebrated my dad's birthday yesterday. he turned 67. he and my mom came over for cake and ice cream after dinner.

of course, we greeted him with a cup of coffee first, along with a birthday hat for him to wear.
so we all put on our birthday hats too. except jacob who was afraid of them because he got snapped with the strap when my mom tried to put it on him.

dad sat at the table and began to tell us some story.

it was getting really intense until......

he laughed at his own punch line.

i guess rachel and olivia thought it was funny

and so did jacob, who finally decided that he would give the hat one more try

josiah was only interested in eating his cake as quickly as he could and a fork was not doing the trick

we had fun!
happy birthday dad!

Friends from childhood are the best...they usually mean the most to us and stick with you through the good and the bad!

Anyway, lovely post! Your family is just beautiful...your dad's smile just lit up my own face. So glad that Jacob finally came around to wearing the birthday hat and that the scare from the rubberband slap didn't due permanent psychological damage! Ha ha!

Take care,
Val

It looks like everyone enjoyed themselves. My dad just turned 80! Wow, I feel so blessed to have him with us still, and that my little girl has the chance to her granddad. I never got to meet either of my grandfathers, and they had already passed before I was born, and I feel like really I missed out!

I love little Jacobs curly locks, by the way!

Nothing worse than getting snapped by a birthday hat. Good to see that cutie was brave and tried the hat again.

Happy Birthday to your dad.
