all for one and one for all

there is nothing more satisfying than to see my kids play with each other and love one another. it is so rewarding. i love it! and i love it when i see them stand up and defend one another against harm from others.  it makes me think of the saying, "all for one and one for all." i love that saying.  it brings a sense of safety and protection with it. that the ones saying it are not alone and are not out for just themselves but for the unity of the whole of all of them together, living for something bigger than just the promotion of themselves individually.

the very thought of this makes me begin to ponder the idea of the family of God. it must make Him really satisfied and truly happy to see His kids play with each other and love one anther standing up for and defending each other against anything harmful, "all for one and one for all." that sense of safety and protection with the family of God enables each of us to go forward and accomplish great things for Him because we know that our brothers and sisters have our back for the greater good of the whole family as we live for something bigger than just the promotion of ourselves individually.

all for one and one for all!

That is a wonderful analogy! Think of how many Christians tear each other apart ... it must truly grieve our Lord.

Thanks for sharing Christy!

Amen. I imagine HIS heart leaping when HE hears us laugh and play together. What a beautiful image.

Well said! I often think about Him smiling down on us when we are laughing and getting along. But how often is He disappointed in us? How often do we make Him sad? You gave us something to think about. Thanks for sharing.

Until next time... nel

Christy,

I love this entire theory. I think as families we need to prayer together to fend off the enemies of the world from harming our marriages, our families, and our homes. Nothing offers the protection that prayer does!

I was thinking about your beautiful family and how pleased you are as a parent. Then I thought about many belivers who were not born in such a loving clan. Still, we have the opportunity to interact lovingly with each other because of our loving Father! It's a choice.

Hugs,
Mary

That's a great way to put it.

Once our kids hit High School they became best friends and still are to this day.

That is a great thought to ponder. I think you hit on something good for reflection here. Thanks Christy!

You are so right, my friend...how satisfied He must be when He SEES His Body actually being the Body of Christ. So amazing.

Lovely analogy.

Love and biggest hugs.

That is really the heart of Jesus...our unity. He said that the world will know we are Christians by our love!

Thank you for sharing this thought with us today.

Now if we could get the world to think this way.

I love it too when my kids are thinking like one, caring for each other! honestly, it's rare, but it still happens!!

I bet it would make God really happy if we all got along.
I use to love the days when my two children would play in peace. Use to love hearing them laugh when they played. Other days it wasn't so wonderful.

Oh this is very very good.

I wish churches taught this perspective more. Galatians teaches to love each other, and not to fight or we would devour each other. Imagine what the church could be like if we really loved as you discuss here. Good post.

Wouldn't the world be an awesome place if everyone took their place in the family of God, and 'played nice'? Great thought, Christy!

We see a perfect example of the body of Christ in action (defending one another) in Nehemiah. The Israelites were assigned to work on the rebuilding of the walls according to their families. When the trumpet sounded, they all were to run to the place of need (i.e. the enemy trying to thwart their efforts). I think of this when I see my children defend one another. The body of Christ would do well to pay attention!

They teach us so much, don't they?
