i'm enjoying my Gift EVERY day!

every baby born in this world is a gift from God. i have been given five of these wonderful gifts in my time on this earth to love, nurture, enjoy and raise to know who they are and why they were purposed to be born at this time on the earth. each one uniquely crafted and created to live and experience life to the fullest as they live in and come to know their Creator. each one with different gifts and talents given to them to use to reflect and display the awesomeness of the effects of living in union and communion with their God. what wonderful gifts from God they are to me! every year, on the date of their birth, we celebrate the remembrance of the day that they were given to our family. there are decorations and presents and food and, of course, some kind of sweetness in the form of cake or dessert. it's a celebration! it is fun! but, i am so thankful for these gifts from God that i enjoy them daily. i do not just remember them on their birthday. how silly that would be of me if i celebrated their birthday each year then had nothing to do with them for the rest of the year until their next birthday came around, only acknowledging and enjoying my gift once a year. no! i cherish my gifts! i enjoy them daily! i benefit from the relationship i have with them everyday. there is so much fulfillment to be experienced in these gifts of mine, i do not want to miss out on any of it. i do not want to forget how precious and valuable they are, not even for one minute in a day. because, it is in the degree of value that i prize my gifts, that i will experience the fullest measure of enjoyment that God intended me to have in giving them to me. i love these gifts that God has given me.

as i think about this time of year and know that it is the time that we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the greatest Gift given to us from God, i want to make it a great celebration! i want to make it fun! so, we decorate and give presents and eat food and, of course, enjoy the sweetness of dessert. we usually make it a celebration over the course of many days. but, i am so thankful for the Gift of Jesus that i do not want to just remember Him on His birthday and set Him aside until next year when it comes around again. no! i cherish my Gift! i enjoy Him daily. i benefit from the relationship that I have with Him every day. there is so much fulfillment to be experienced in Jesus and i do not want to miss out on any of it. i do not want to forget how precious and valuable He is, not even for one minute in a day. it is in the degree of value that i prize my Gift, that i will experience the fullest measure of enjoyment that God intended me to have in giving Him to me. i love this Gift that God has given me!

i'm enjoying my Gift every day!

Bueatiful. This time of year is when I most appreciate Mary and Joseph's side of the story...and it amazes me. He truly is a gift, and we should celebrate Him every day.

I am soooooo with you, friend. I don't want to miss out on a single moment with my Jesus. Not ever. There is so much LIFE there. There is just so much more to Him that can so easily be ours--if we only open our hearts and receive it.

Pressing in just like you :)

Love you!

I love that you posted this because I made the very same comment on someone's blog the other day! We should be celebrating the true meaning of Christmas EVERYDAY, not just Dec. 25 - like you said!

Beautiful, Christy. I love how you drew a parallel between the degree of value and enjoyment. My kids sure didn't enjoy their toys when they were left on the shelf and never played with.

But, they discovered that the more they played with them (instead of ignoring them), the more they enjoyed them!

Also love the analogy about celebrating your children every day instead of once a year.

Christy,
This post resonates with me. Our pastor's daughter just this weekend had to have emergency gall bladder surgery. She was 7 months pregnant. The baby was fine, but then about 24 hours after the surgery, no heart beat. The baby had died. She had to wait another 24 hours to get induced to deliver her dead baby boy. It is absolutely heart breaking. It makes me so appreciate the gifts I've been given and that God never gave me that cross to bear.

Amen...this brought to mind some lyrics from an old song..."Everyday with Jesus, is sweeter than the day before..."
