a cup of christmas tea

the tables were decorated so beautifully and the room was filled with the joy of the season of Christmas.

i entered the room and was amazed at the beauty that radiated from there. along with the decor, the ladies were gorgeous and glowing! this past weekend, i attended a party, by invitation from my -in real life- sweet, friend kim, who is also my blogging friend @ my words are not my own, in expectation of the joy of great fellowship and a cup of Christmas tea. some of my favorite people in the world graced me with their presence at our table.

(front row; jessica brown, my mom, and esta woods, back row; kim baker and me)

(carrie pfifer, kim baker, kellie felmey, kelly kinsman)
kim was an awesome host. she made everything beautiful and wonderful. she blessed us all with so many sweet favors. this was the most precious thing that she gave each of us at our table.

each of us at the table had one of these picture frames with our own name engraved in the palm of Jesus' hands that we could put in the place that we read and study the Word to remember His provision of love that He provides for us in the work that was accomplished on the cross. it was a beautiful reflection of the evening.

the speaker of the evening blessed us with the story of her life and how Christmas has changed for her since coming to know Jesus, the reason for the season of celebration this time of year. i loved her reflection of how Christmas was rushed, hectic, and stressed before she came to the Lord. it was about having the perfect Christmas party and wearing the perfect Christmas outfit, decorating the perfect Christmas tree, finding the perfect Christmas present, cooking the perfect Christmas dish, and baking the perfect Christmas cookies. but, since coming to know Jesus, the One that the season is all about, Christmas has become a time to celebrate our perfect Lord and Savior as He has rescued us from all of our efforts of trying to attain the perfection that only He can provide, making Christmas about peace and rest. it was a beautiful start to a great time of celebrating the birth of our Redeemer with wonderful friends and a cup of Christmas tea.

What a special and treasured friend you have. Love the photos of all of you beautiful sisters in Christ but I have to say that tears ran when I saw the final photo! What a beautiful gift she gave to each one of you.

JESUS with your name in the palm of His hand is exactly the way it is with all of us. That totally would have had me busting in tears at that table.

Beautiful...

Love ya.

I love this scripture card. That is one of my favorite scriptures. I have threatened to have it tattooed on my body. My family cringes when I mention it, but I just may leap out there one day and get my first tattoo.

You are truly blessed to have such special friends and I am blessed to count you as a friend. I am thankful GOD brought you and so many others into my life.

Blessings, hugs, and prayers, andrea

Christy Rose,
What a beautiful gift you were given. Looks like a beautiful setting.

I attended a ladies' tea this past weekend. Actually I was asked to speak. It's the first tea I had been too like this.

Loved reading this!

That is so beautiful, everything, from the tables to all the friends sharing tea. But the gift is the most precious...with your name on His hands. What a beautiful reminder of His faithful love! God bless you sister and have a Merry Christmas!

What a beautiful day, I bet!! I can relate to the story the lady told. This is the first year that I've really even thought much about what Christmas is really all about. I mean, I've always thought about it and knew, but this year I am really celebrating it and so thankful! It's amazing how much your heart changes once you really live for the Lord!

Glad you had a wonderful time. You look just like your mom!! I used to be stressed and rushing around but I've come to the point where Christmas isn't about that and I refuse to do it.

What a special night! It's obvious that a lot of love and preparation went into this evening to make sure everyone felt loved, appreciated, and special.

So glad you were able to go; I've not done much "partying" up to this point. Would love to have some time like this with friends.
